Development Procedures Policy

That the cut-off for referral of planning-related applications to be considered by the Board be established at eight (8) weeks prior to the Board meeting at which it is to be considered.
That staff attempt to process applications within seven (7) working days of the cut-off date on a first come-first served basis. Applications arriving on the same day will be processed in reverse alphabetical order of owner surname, or in the case of Crown Land (Integrated Land Management Bureau) applications, the surname of the benefactor of the application.
That responses to referrals from referees, including the Advisory Planning Commission, are required within 30 days of the referral date.
That referral responses will be accepted in the form of hard or digital copy.
That should sufficient responses be received prior to the 30 day referral period, the application may be referred to the next Board meeting.
That applications that require additional response time may be extended to more than 30 days when necessary.
That rezoning & OCP amendment public hearing notices be posted on the Regional District’s webpage concurrently with the public mailout and be removed from our webpage the day following the hearing.
That public hearing notices and application information will be posted on the website.
That, in cases where a public information meeting (PIM) is to be held, notice of the PIM will be posted to the website.
