CRD Meetings

As per Sections 89 and 93 of the Community Charter, Regional District Board, Committee and Commission meetings are open to the public. The exception is where a portion of a meeting is closed to the public because the subject under discussion falls within clause 90 of the Act. Agendas for the Board meetings and sub-regional meetings are posted on the Agendas page of the CRD website.

Meetings that may be of interest to Area “L” residents include the following:

• Board of Directors – The Board is comprised of 12 Electoral Area Directors and a representative from each of the 4 municipalities. Except for two meetings each year which are held in the Electoral Areas, the Board meetings are held at the CRD office in Williams Lake.
• South Cariboo Rural Caucus – The Rural Caucus includes the three Electoral Area Directors from the South Cariboo (Areas G, H & L). Meetings are held in the meeting room at the South Cariboo Recreational Center.
• South Cariboo Joint Committee – The Committee includes the three Electoral Area Directors from the South Cariboo (Areas G, H & L) and the Mayor and Councillors from the District of 100 Mile House. Meetings alternate between the meeting room at the South Cariboo Recreational Center and the District of 100 Mile House Council Chambers.
• South Cariboo Airport Commission – The Commission includes the three Electoral Area Directors (Areas G, H & L), the Regional District Director representing the District of 100 Mile House and four residents appointed as Members at Large.  Meetings are held at the South Cariboo Airport at 108 Mile.
• Area “L” Advisory Planning Commission – The Commission includes nine Area ”L” residents appointed by the CRD Board of Directors. Meetings are generally held at 7pm at the Lone Butte Fire Hall. The schedule for these meetings is subject to change, so it is suggested that you call (250-593-9359) or email me to confirm.
