Upcoming Events:
October 4, 2010 A State of the Region meeting is being scheduled for the evening of October 4th in 100 Mile House. Staff and elected officials will be on hand to hear your thoughts and answer questions about the CRDs 2011 budget. This will be a drop-in style meeting with tables set up for specific topics. The current list of topics includes public consultation, bylaw enforcement, finance and taxation structure, emergency planning, solid waste management, and joint municipal/rural services. More details will be available shortly.
CRD Board:
Board Meeting The following decisions were taken at the CRD Board of Directors meeting in Williams Lake on September 2, 2010:
- Bylaws 4629 / 4630 1st and 2nd reading of OCP and zoning bylaws were given for a property on Lone Butte-Horse Lake Road to allow for creation of 2 five acre lots (Wiens).
- Bylaws 4631 / 4632 1st and 2nd reading of OCP and zoning bylaws were given for a property on Hwy 24 at Lone Butte to allow for creation of 2 five acre lots (Watson Lake Holdings).
- Bylaws 4633 / 4634 1st and 2nd reading of OCP and zoning bylaws were given for a property on McMillan Road at Horse Lake to allow for creation of 2 five acre lots (Ranlin Investments).
- Bylaws 4352 / 4653 OCP and zoning bylaws were adopted for a property on Bridge Lake North Road to allow for creation of 2 five acre lots and a 28 acre remainder (Weeks).
- Greenhouse Gas amendments OCP amendments were approved to add greenhouse gas policies and actions to various OCPs to comply with Bill 27.
- DVP 455 approval was given to increase the ancillary building area limits for a property on Wilson Lake Road (Hickman).
- DVP 462 approval was given to reduce the building setback limits for a property on Horse Lake Road (Ley/Vredik).
- DVP 463 approval was given to increase the building height limits for a property on Nath Road at Sheridan Lake (Cairns).
- DVP 465 approval was given to increase the building height limits for a property on Burgess Road at Deka Lake (Little).
- DVP 466 approval was given to increase the building height limits for a property on Gauthier Road at Deka Lake (Barlow).
- Auditors Management letter approved receipt of management letter for the 2009 fiscal year and directed staff to return to the Board in October with a response.
- South Cariboo Rural Caucus endorsed the recommendation to reconfirm the previous decision to confine improvements by the Outriders to the area within the equestrian grounds agreement boundaries and the removal of the unapproved fencing.
- Building Bylaw 1st and 2nd reading was given to a bylaw to replace the existing Building Bylaw. The main changes include:
- Update the Service to reflect the amalgamation of the North and the South/Central Inspection Areas;
- Increase the term of the building permit to 24 months and eliminate the requirement for a start within six months of issuance;
- Delete the clause that deems a permit null and void if work ceases for a twelve month period;
- Change the requirements and term of demolition permits (3 or 6 months);
- Increase the maximum value of work exempted from the requirement for a building permit ($15,000 max.);
- Under Penalties wording has been added to allow for removal of structures using a notice of remedial action requirements;
- Building Inspection Bylaw 1st, 2nd and 3rd reading were given to a bylaw to combine the North, and South/Central Building Inspection areas.
- South Cariboo Recreation 1st, 2nd and 3rd reading was given to a bylaw to combine the functions of South Cariboo Arena, South Cariboo Curling and South Cariboo Recreation Programs.

Grants for Assistance The CRD is accepting applications for 2011 Grants for Assistance from August 1st to September 30th. Application forms are available from the CRD offices in 100 Mile House or Williams Lake as well as on the CRD website.
Grant Writer A reminder that if you are looking for funding for a community project, the CRD has a staff person who can help identify grant programs and assist in putting together a proposal.
